Composition of U.S. GDP by sector

As countries (economies) mature or in another word become developed the tertiary sector takes more importance in the composition of GDP.

The U.S., however, carry unique characteristics both of  developed and developing economies due to its demographics and business culture thus enabling it to grow at a higher rate than most of developed nations. 

Agriculture: 1.2%
Industry: 21.9%
Services: 76.9% (2009 est.)
